Dr. Lia Patricia Suazo Hernandez, MD

Dr. Lia Patricia Suazo Hernandez, MD is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. She has over a decade of experience caring for patients with complex infections. Her approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered. She values collaboration and care coordination across medical specialties.

Originally from Honduras, Dr. Suazo earned her medical degree at the Universidad Autónoma de Honduras. She later moved to the United States, where she completed her Internal Medicine residency at New York Downtown Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College and Bridgeport Hospital/Yale School of Medicine. She then completed fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), where she broadened her clinical expertise and deepened her dedication to comprehensive care.

Her clinical interests include:

• Non-tuberculous mycobacterial (NTMB) infections
• Endemic mycoses
• HIV
• Infections in immunocompromised patients
• Osteomyelitis
• Prosthetic-associated infections
• Diabetic foot infections
